Ocean Safety Rescue Session and Beach Clean Up

We were so fortunate to host an informative on-land session about ocean safety and basic rescue techniques with NY Water Rescue team member and lifeguard Brian Sweeny this June. Brian spent time going over basic ocean safety, how to identify different rip tides and currents (and how to use them to your advantage as a surfer), and what to do in the event of an emergency.

Big thanks to Brian for taking the time out of his busy schedule to help us spread ocean safety awareness and answering all of our many questions! Many of us got to surf together before, after, and during the event and we also were able to clean up the beach together.
