Longboarding Progression

Join local surf instructor and Yeasty Boy @papidel_del_tubo for an in-water lesson on all things longboarding- cross stepping, noseriding, forecasting, ideal conditions and progressing your surf skills overall! Greg will go over these essentials of longboarding and more while providing a space to try new techniques, ask questions, and learn how to longboard like your favorite surfers.

Whether you’re an aspiring noserider, a shortboarder turned longboarder, an instructor looking for tips on teaching technique, or you just like to try new stuff and fall, this class is for you!

As Greg says “East Coast longboarding isn’t dead, it’s just lacking style, talent and culture. Don’t worry y’all! Steeze Brothers and Sisters have been working on fixing this problem for all of us here in NYC! So have no fear… the renaissance is coming soon!”

Requirements:

*Your own board and wetsuit

*Be able to catch the waves you want (ideally green waves)

*A commitment to learning and progressing your skills

Proposed July 20th Schedule:

8am- Meet at Rockaway Beach Surf Club for On Land Lesson

10am- In-Water Lesson

12pm- After lesson drinks and hangs at RBSC

As you may have guessed, scheduling for this type of lesson is entirely dependent on conditions, so sign up at the link in our bio to stay up to date on if July 20th will work for our first in-water class! If conditions don’t align, we’ll be meeting at @rockawaybeachsurfclub for an on-land lesson with video review, a Q&A and tasty drinks and food. This will hopefully be the first of a few classes (on land and in-water) so even if you’re interested, sign up to register interest and we can keep you updated on lessons!

Register your interest and sign up for lesson date updates here.
